Centro Português de Fotografia (Portuguese Centre for Photography) is housed in the building where a prison used to be in the past. The Centre for Photography was created in 1997, and since then it studies and promotes the photographic patrimony of Portugal. The Photography Museum holds both permanent and temporary exhibitions devoted to photographic art and equipment. The museum has a rare collection of cameras and a specialized library. Everyone interested in photography should not miss this museum in Porto.
