Dom Luis I Bridge is one of the most imposing constructions in Porto, one of the city’s main symbols. The bridge across the Douro River designed by Teófilo Seyrig was started in 1881 and launched in 1886.
Dom Luis I Bridge features the impressive 45 meter tall arch that comprises 172m of cord. The upper level of the bridge is used by the metro, while the lower one is used by cars and pedestrians. From this magnificent bridge spectacular city views are guaranteed.
